MS. NEHA GUPTA, STUDENT, SIKKIM GOVERNMENT LAW COLLEGE QUALIFIES THE STATE ROUND TO REPRESENT THE STATE OF SIKKIM AS THE SPEAKER AT NATIONAL YOUTH PARLIAMENT FESTIVAL, 2019 [FEBRUARY, 2019]

 

National Youth Parliament Festival was conceptualized by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who in his Mann Ki Baat address on 31st December 2017, had shared his idea of organizing Youth Parliaments for young people in every district of the country. National Youth Parliament Festival 2019 was organised on the theme of “Be The Voice of New India” and “Find solutions and contribute to policy”. Youth in the age bracket of 18- 25 years are invited to participate in the District Youth Parliaments. Two students from Sikkim Government Law College namely Ms. Neha Gupta and Ms. Subaksha Pradhan qualified from the East District for State Rounds and in State Rounds which witnessed the participation from the winners of all four districts, Ms. Neha Gupta, student, Sikkim Government Law College secured the second position and qualified for representing the State of Sikkim as the speaker at National Youth Parliament Festival, 2019. Ms. Subaksha Pradhan, student, Sikkim Government Law College also got an opportunity to attend the National Youth Parliament Festival, 2019 as a representative of East District of Sikkim.
Ms. Neha Gupta being one of the State Representatives at National Youth Parliament Festival, 2019 received the Certificate from the then Sports and Youth affairs minister Mr. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore.
The final Valedictory Ceremony was attended by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi himself who also addressed all the participants which made the event more special and encouraging for the students to participate in more such events in near future.
